Following storm damage and almost total loss of the 2 cast iron benches located in the harbour we have recently completed a complete refurbishment of the benches. This involved repair to the bespoke cast iron bench ends including sand blasting, zinc galvanisation and powder bake painting as well as full replacement of all wood paneling. The benches have been installed on the East and West piers for all to enjoy – make sure to take a look when next in the harbour as they look great.

Top Tip! – Look out for the bespoke cast iron crest feature on the bench ends which match the waste bins and other cast iron benches located throughout the village.

The Pennan Harbour Trustees have set up a public meeting for Saturday 1st June 2019 at 7.30pm in the Pennan Hall. Following on from the last meeting regarding the harbour, highlighting the costs involved in maintenance and the necessity to raise funds, there seemed to be a general willingness amongst those present to help out with any future fund raising efforts. We have come up with a few ideas and would like to assess the viability of moving forward  with the assistance of the villagers. There will be a variety of different tasks requiring volunteers and in the end, it will help to make sure Pennan Harbour is there for us all for a number of years to come.

Thanks to all who used Pennan Harbour last year. The revenue is very important for maintaining the harbour.

Currently all users will have access to the moorings they had last year.

The Pennan Harbour Trustees will hold a Public Meeting in the Pennan Hall on Friday 27th April 2018 commencing at 7PM.

The purpose of the meeting will be to appraise/update attendees on the background administrative structure for the harbour, to share an insight on some of the challenges the harbour faces and to overview/discuss some future options that the Trust may consider.

A short presentation will be given and will be followed by an opportunity for questions/answers and open discussion on harbour related matters.

After a sterling effort by the harbour trustees we have completed the repairs to the slipway. Well done to all involved!
